The mission of the Massachusetts Food Policy Alliance (MFPA) is to bring together diverse stakeholders across the food system, from farmers to consumers, to create a sustainable, systematic, effective, and inclusive food policy for Massachusetts. Membership is open to individuals (participating members) and organizations, including businesses (voting members). The MFPA will actively strive for a diverse membership across all sectors of the food system.
Membership Organizations: Voting members are organizations that actively participate in the MFPA's organizational decisions and assist in the development of policy priorities. Voting members may join committees or perform leadership roles. The Annual Membership dues for an organization is $35, and where possible members are encouraged to contribute more. The criteria for voting membership is as follows:
- Supports the MFPA's vision, mission, and objectives
- Agrees to the MFPA's guiding Principles of Collaboration
- Pays membership dues based on the sliding scale articulated in the MFPA Governance Principles
- Has a stated mission and objectives consistent with
those of MFPA and a consistent history of efforts towards achieving the mission
and objectives.
- Benefits MFPA and will act to further its goals and
objectives
- Approved by two thirds of the MFPA Steering Committee.
Participating Members: Participating members are individuals who support and follow the MFPA's work and may complete voluntary support tasks. Participating members are not eligible to vote in organizational decisions or perform leadership roles. The Annual Membership dues for participating members is a minimum annual donation of $10. The criteria for participatory membership is as follows:
- Supports the MFPA's vision, mission, and objectives
- Agrees to the MFPA's guiding Principles of Collaboration
Membership Rates
Annual MFPA dues are based on the calendar year (Jan. 1 through Dec. 31st).
Organizations: $35 (allows voting) Individuals: $10 (non-voting)
